Nice to enjoy another day off. I know sometimes it sounds like I never get any but I do have 4 days off every week…. spoiled? maybe… I just like to say that it is deserved after putting up with those little rascals in the classroom for 8 periods.
I try to keep myself busy on every occasion because I know that this is not meant to last. Sooner or later, we will be back to the world of 40 hours a week and boring 9-5 job; then our China days will seem like a distant cherished memory that we float back to whenever we are burned out.
I do spend hours a day on the ESL forums trying to get a feeling for what other teachers do whenever they go back to their “normal” life and I can’t say for sure that I know. Most of them still check the forums on a daily basis and argue the merits of this or that as if they were still in the middle of it all. food for the mind, right? I am sure I’ll forget about it in a few minutes.
