strange interview
This is one of the weirdest ones i’ve been to so far!!
Yesterday, i received an email asking me to show up today at 2:00 p.m. for an interview…all good so far, i’ve gotten used to these weird emails that show up eons after the original application but not this way. I figured i had nothing better to do so might as well check it out.. and so i did!
The place was in like…bumfuck Beijing, really.. north side of the fifth ring road.. i was not even aware of the 5th ring before. a bloody 70 RMB by taxi… that is just too much. i could tour Tangshan for half of that amount.
So anyways, i get there and find the lady i’m supposed to talk to. We go to her office and then i hand her a copy of my resume. I then realized this woman did not know who i was or what i was doing there… can you believe that? It’s a scheduled interview and she has no clue!! Apparently, HR said someone was coming and they were qualified and that’s all she needed to know.
We move directly to talking about salary and it’s obvious that i’m too expensive just from looking at my CV… we start talking and trading figures back and forward for like 5 mn. Mind you, at this point, I still have no idea of what the job entails.. i just remembered the add was for a ‘chamberlain’… strange.
Anyways, after about 15mn, we say goodbye and i leave.. that was it. a waste of money if you ask me but then again, one never knows.
