It’s about 3:00 a.m. and I am so freaking excited about getting ready to embark on the trip of a lifetime: Xinjiang, the Silk Road. This little baby has been in the planning for quite a bit now and it did look like it might not happen for a bit. Alas, all the stars lined-up in the right spots and it’s a go.
The whole thing is a bit of a rush to be honest but how else could one fit everything i’m fitting into a 10 day journey?
Saturday: beijing – Urumqi – Kashgar
Sunday: Kashgar tour
Monday: Karakul Lake, Tashkurgan, Khunjarab pass
Tuesday: karakul tour then back to kashgar
wednesday: set out for Hetian ( hotan) via southern silk road
thursday: be in hotan hopefully and fly to urumqi
friday: Urumqi – Turpan
saturday: turpan – Hami
Sunday: hami – urumqi
Monday: Urumqi – Beijing
the good news? the laptop is coming along for the ride and the adventure shall be broadcasted as live as possible so keep checking for up to the day (CDMA connection permitting) updates.
